The route of the 12th PKO Cracovia Royal Half Marathon
18,000 participants, 21.0975 km, and Kraków as the backdrop. On October 11, the 12th PKO Cracovia Royal Half Marathon will take place – the event’s largest edition to date. Runners can look forward to a route that combines sporting competition with a meeting of the city’s most important symbols.
At exactly 10:00 a.m., the runners will set off from Stanisława Lema Street, in front of TAURON Arena Kraków. The event’s support facilities will be located in the immediate vicinity—the competition office, changing rooms, and a deposit area will be operating in TAURON Arena Kraków and the Small Hall.
The half marathon route will take participants through places that are an integral part of Kraków. Along the route, runners will pass landmarks such as the Main Market Square, where they’ll run alongside the Cloth Hall, and Wawel Royal Castle. They’ll also encounter unique religious architecture, including St. Mary’s Basilica and the churches of St. Adalbert and Sts. Peter and Paul.
The Kraków leg of the route isn’t just about history. It will also feature distinctive contemporary landmarks and venues: the ICE Kraków Congress Center, Cricoteka, the Father L. Bernatek Footbridge, and the Botanical Garden. The route will also include key locations on the city’s sports map: Synarise Arena – the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium in Kraków, the Józef Piłsudski Cracovia Municipal Stadium, and the KS Cracovia 100th Anniversary Hall along with the Sports Center for People with Disabilities—near which participants in the 12th PKO Cracovia Royal Half Marathon will run as they loop around Błonia.
Emotions also awaits runners in the final meters. After covering 21.0975 km, the competitors will cross the finish line inside TAURON Arena Kraków. The finish, with the lights dimmed on the arena’s main board, in the presence of fans, creates a unique atmosphere that has been one of the most distinctive features of the Kraków's half marathon for years.
