The course of 5 for Kosciuszko
Presenting the course of 5 for Kosciuszko – a 5K race starting alongside the 4th PZU Cracovia Royal Half Marathon and finishing on the same finish line – at TAURON Arena Kraków.
A proposition for short distance experts and amateur runners was prepared by the Organisers of the 4th PZU Cracovia Royal Half Marathon: City of Krakow and the Sports Infrastructure Management Board in Krakow in order to commemorate Tadeusz Kosciuszko, national hero of Poland and the United States of America on the 200th anniversary of his death, October 15, 2017. The event also fits perfectly into the celebrations of the Kosciuszko Year, designated by the Polish Sejm and Senate. The anniversary is celebrated under the auspices of the UNESCO and honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.
Kosciuszko is inseparably connected with Krakow. The Main Market Square saw the beginning of the Kościuszko Uprising, his earthly remains rest in the sarcophagus in the St. Leonard's Crypt in the Wawel Castle and his symbolic grave – the Kosciuszko Mound – was built by Poles on St. Bronislawa Hill.
