The 4th PZU Cracovia Royal Half Marathon – a new attendance record and another victory for Maiyo Kimaiyo

Just like in the 3rd edition of the race, the first runner to cross the finish line of the 4th PZU Cracovia Royal Half Marathon at TAURON Arena Kraków was Hillary Kiptum Maiyo Kimaiyo. The runner, who two weeks ago also won the 11th PZU Three Mounds' Run managed to complete the race in 1:03:41. The fastest woman was Melat Kejeta from Ethiopia, who achieved a result of 1:12:04. In line with our expectations, our runners managed to once again set a new attendance record at the event – 8421 athletes started in the race and 8336 of them crossed the finish line.

This was 1321 more runners participating in the race and 1254 more crossing the finish line compared to previous years.

The second place was taken by three-time winner of the Cracovia Marathon, Cosmas Mutuku Kyeva, while Mengistu Zelalem from Ethiopia managed to finish third. The fastest Polish runner – Tomasz Grycko, last year’s national champion in 10 000 metre race – managed to finish the race just off the podium.

The second fastest woman, Julia Szmatenko from Ukraine and the third – Stellah Jepngetich Barsosio from Kenya, the winner of this year’s events comprising the 2017 Royal Triad Race: the 16th PZU Cracovia Maraton and the 11th PZU Three Mounds Run – managed to repeat their achievements from last year. The best Polish runner – Michalina Mendecka – managed to get 5th place, followed by well-known Agnieszka Cader from Zabierzów, who managed to finish 6th.
