Preamble

Due to the epidemiological situation in the country, which causes exceptional circumstances requiring the introduction of special measures and solutions, individual provisions of these regulations are/will depend on the currently applicable legal provisions and guidelines indicated on the website www.gov.pl. 

I. ORGANIZER

The 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon is organized by the Municipality of Kraków – Sports Infrastructure Management Board of Kraków.

II. DATE AND PLACE

1. 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon will be held on 16 October 2022 (Sunday) in Kraków.

2. Runners will start from Stanisława Lem Street at 10:00 a.m. The starting gate will be located in front of TAURON Arena Kraków and will be closed after approximately 20 min from the start. It will not be possible to start to run after 10:20 a.m.

3.The finishing line of the half marathon will be in TAURON Arena Kraków on Stanisława Lema 7 Street.

4. The Competition Office will be located in TAURON Arena Kraków.

Open on:

-the 14h October  (Friday) 2022 from 03:00 p.m. to 08:00 p.m.

-the 15th October (Saturday) 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 08:00 p.m.

-the 16th October (Sunday) 2022 from 07:30 a.m. to 09:00 a.m.

Note! On the day of the run, the Competition Office only issues starting packages; it will be impossible to sign up and pay the entry fee.

III. ROUTE

1. The course of the half-marathon is 21,097.5 m long. The route will be certified by PZLA, World Athletics (formerly IAAF) and AIMS.

2. The route should be run within the regulation time, i.e. within 3 hours.

3. At the starting line, runners are allocated to separated areas. The allocation to a particular zone is followed by time declared by the runner during registration as intended to reach to finish the run. The order of time zones from the starting line:

a) <1:24:59

b) 1:25:00-1:29:59

c) 1:30:00-1:39:59

d) 1:40:00-1:49:59

e) 1:50:00-1:59:59

f) 2:00:00-2:09:59

g) 2:10:00<

4. A detailed description of the route will be published on the website www.cracoviapolmaraton.pl at a later date.

5. On the route, kilometres will be marked from 1 to 21.

6. The route will include:

a. Nutritional points:

- They will be located in the vicinity of kilometers 5 and 13.

-  On the tables will be placed products: water, isotonic drink, fruit, sweets,

- The organizer does not accept competitors' private nutrients for nutritional points.

b. Refreshing points:

- They will be located in the vicinity of kilometers 9 and 17,

- On the tables will be placed  only water,

- The organizer does not accept competitors' private supplements for refreshment points.

c. WC cubicles

-They will be located on the route behind each refreshment and refreshment point.

d. Medical points

-They will be located on the route at the nutrition points as well as at the start.

IV. TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

1. The organizer sets the following limits:

a. Starters: 7,000 competitors,

b. T-shirt package limit: 5000.

2. The list will be closed once 7,000 runners have registered. The organizer does not make entries to the reserve list.

3. The limit may change - in the event of changes in the guidelines and regulations regarding the organization of events in relation to the prevention, counteraction and combating of COVID-19.

4. The condition for the start is the entry of the competitor and payment of the entry fee.

If the entry fee is not paid, the registration is valid.

5. The Organizer reserves the right to organize the start in turns.

6. Competitors of at least 18 years of age as of 16 October, 2022 may participate in the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon.

7.Time measurement and ordering will be made by an electronic time measurement system. During verification, each competitor will receive a chip embedded in the starting number, its proper fixing is a condition for starting in the half-marathon and classifying it in the final message of the competition.

8. The condition for classifying a competitor is to run along the approved route of the half-marathon and finish the run within the regulation time of 3 hours.

a. Competitors who, within 90 minutes from crossing the starting line, will not complete half of the route (10 km) are required to stop the race and leave the route.

b. Whoever stays on the route after this time, is responsible for it, in accordance with the applicable road traffic regulations and the Civil Code.

9. During the run, the participants should follow the instructions of the people responsible for safety, security services and people acting on behalf of the Organizer.

10. In the event of a privileged vehicle appearing on the route, the participants of the run are obliged to stop the run and allow the passage.

11. Runners who run the distance in an illegal manner will be disqualified.

12. The following are forbidden:

a. start without a bib number,

b. start of a competitor who is under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants,

c. use of any vehicles on the route of the half marathon, except for the Organiser's vehicles,

d. start with animals,

e. start with baby carriages, with babies in wraps / carriers,

f. start with Nordic walking poles,

g. covering part of the route by means of transport, e.g. public transport,

h. shortening, changing the route,

i. start in wheelchairs for the disabled,

j. start and run without shoes.

13. The organizer does not provide participants with accident insurance. It is advisable to insure yourself against accidents on your own.

14. Handing over his starting number to another person will disqualify both competitors.

15. Competitors are required to follow the sanitary recommendations indicated by the sanitary services and the Organizer on the start date. Detailed instructions will be posted on the website www.cracoviapolmaraton.pl at a later date.

16. The race cannot be attended by people who on the day of the event:

a. have symptoms of infection, especially of the upper respiratory tract such as runny nose, cough;

b. have a temperature above 37,5o C;

c. are in quarantine or isolation. 

V. APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND ENTRY FEE

1. Applications for participation in the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon are accepted:

a. on the website of the race until October 6, 2022 or until the limit of participants is exhausted. Applications can be made via the application form on the website of the race - www.cracoviapolmaraton.pl.

b. at the Competition Office on 14-15 October 2022 if the limit of participants is not exhausted.

2. A properly completed application form and payment of the starting fee are considered valid applications.

3. By submitting the application for the race, the competitor declares that he is aware of the risks that may arise in connection with the start and that his health condition allows him to participate in this race.

4. Verification of competitors, assigning starting numbers and collecting starting numbers and packages will take place at the Competition Office.

5. Verification and collection of the starting package is possible only in person at the Competition Office. It is not possible to verify and obtain the starting package on a date other than the opening date of the Competition Office specified in the regulations.

6. The Organizer allows the situation of collecting the starter package on behalf of another person – collection of the starter package by a proxy:

a. In order to enable the collection of the starter package by an authorized person, the competitor during registration should provide in the application form the data of the person he wants to authorize to receive the package,

b. the athlete has the option of entering the data of the representative until 13 October, 2022,

c. the package will be issued only to a person who has the QR code of the runner for whom he receives the package,

d. No data of the representative in the application prevent collection of the starter package.

7.  The organizer provides team registration. Details on team registration are available on the Organiser's website www.cracoviapolmaraton.pl.

8. The organizer gives the possibility of purchasing a voucher - a gift for a runner has been introduced. Details on paying the starting fee for another. Details are available on the Organiser's website www.cracoviapolmaraton.pl.

9. Detailed instructions for collecting the starter package and verification are available on the Organiser's website www.cracoviapolmaraton.pl.

 10. Entry fee:

120 PLN - until August 31, 2022 standard package (no T-shirt)

160 PLN - until August 31, 2022 premium package (standard package + T-shirt)

160 PLN - 01/09/2022 - 06/10/2022 standard package (without a T-shirt)

200 PLN - 01/09/2022 - 06/10/2022 premium package (standard package + T-shirt)

240 PLN - 14.10.2022-15.10.2022 at the Competition Office, standard package (without a T-shirt), if the starting limit is not reached

280 PLN - 14/10/2022 - 15/10/2022 at the Competition Office, premium package (standard package + T-shirt), if the limit of participants and the limit of premium packages are not exhausted.

a. It is not possible to buy a T-shirt for the standard package at a later date.

b. The PayU system enables the payment of the entry fee in foreign currency by calculating the entry fee according to the foreign currency exchange rate on the date of payment.

c. It is possible to pay only in PLN  at the Competition Office.

11.  Discounts:

a. 50% discount for holders of the Krakow Family Card 3+ – a valid Krakow Family Card and an identity document will be presented during the verification at the Competition Office.

b. Competitors who indicate the right to a discount during registration are required to present a valid Krakow 3+ Family Card at the Competition Office,

c. In the absence of relevant documents entitling to a discount, the competitor is obliged to make an additional payment to the amount of the starting fee applicable at the Competition Office– the difference to the amount of PLN 240 (for the standard package) / PLN 280 (for the premium package).

12. The following are exempt from the entry fee:

a. people with disabilities,

b. persons invited by the Organizer,

c. guides for people with visual disabilities,

d. volunteers helping with the organization of the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon.

13. The players mentioned in points. V.12 point a-c sign up via the registration form, selecting the appropriate option to be exempt from the entry fee. Volunteers register only at the Competition Office.

14. Guides of people with disabilities due to the eyesight can sign up only if a blind competitor with whom they start is entered on the start list. At the Competition Office, the guide of a blind person is obliged to appear at the same time as the blind competitor with whom he starts and make a statement that he is his guide. Otherwise, the exemption from the fee will not be accepted and the competitor will be obliged to make a payment in the amount of PLN 240 (standard package) / PLN 280 (premium package) at the Competition Office.

15. Registrations of persons with disabilities.

a. The participants with disabilities are exempt from the entry fee,

b. During the verification competitors with disabilities are required to present documents confirming their eligibility for the discount,

c. Visually disabled competitors must present a valid document confirming their disability, eg ID card of the Polish Association of the Blind, ID card of the County Family Assistance Center or a decision on awarding the 1st or 2nd group related to visual impairment.

d. due to the fact that on the above-mentioned There is no record in the documents that specifies 100% loss of sight and in order to be allowed to run in category B1, competitors or their guardians starting in this category are required to submit a declaration of 100% loss of sight.

e. Competitors with a hearing loss above 55 dB must present a valid document confirming their hearing disability - ID card of the Polish Deaf Sports Association, audiogram and a certificate of disability.

f. Hearing impaired competitors must present a valid document confirming their hearing disability - ID card of the Polish Deaf Sports Association, audiogram and a certificate of disability.

16. The entry fee:

a.The payment of the starting fee is possible only via the PayU payment system until October 6, 2022 immediately after registration of participation or at the Competition Office at the rate applicable on the date of payment, if the starting limit is not exhausted.

b. Lack of payment upon registration will result in removal from the start list.

c. Payments made in a different way than specified in the regulations, ie by transfer to the Organiser's account, will not be accepted and will be returned to the account from which they were made.

d. The organizer does not allow the transfer of the fee and the starting package to another competitor.

e. The fee cannot be transferred to the next edition or another event.

f. The date of payment shall be the date of receipt of funds on the Organiser's bank account or the date of payment of the entry fee at the Competition Office.

g. The runner is obliged to check whether the transfer for the fee has been made, i.e. whether the amount of the fee has been debited from the account and has not been returned by PayU. The Organizer is not responsible for the lack of payment for reasons attributable to the Depositing Bank/PayU. The player making the payment has transaction numbers and as the client has the opportunity to explain the reason for the lack of entry fee.

h.  The starting fee paid to participate in the run is to, inter alia, cover the organizational costs of the event.

17. Every runner may resign from participation in the Race

a. The competitor who resigns is entitled to refund of the starting fee, reduced by PLN 20 handling costs, subject to point V.17 lit. F,

b. The resignation is possible until 06/10/2022

c. In order to resign and obtain a refund, the competitor is obliged to:

- send a message to the Organizer: zapisy@zis.krakow.pl;

- the title of the message should include: "Resignation from participation in the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon";

- the message must contain a clear declaration of the competitor on his resignation from participation in the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon;

- the message should also include: name and surname of the competitor, e-mail address, date of birth, home address and account number.

d. Only full applications will be considered.

e. Only the competitor who is on the start list can resign personally. The message should be sent from the e-mail address from which the registration for the race was made,

f. If the entry fee has been invoiced to another person than competitor, it is not possible to obtain a refund of the entry fee,

g. The return of the entry fee will be made to the account number provided in the e-mail message within 20 working days from the date of sending the application,

h. The place on the start list released by the competitor's resignation from participation returns to the limit of free places,

i. In case the competitor had purchased a premium package, it is not possible to resign only from the start and leave the t-shirt. After resignation, the t-shirt from the package returns to the limit of free places with the package.

18. Receipt of an invoice is possible only if this fact is indicated in the application form and indicates in it the data to which the invoice is to be issued and the e-mail address to which it will be sent by the Organizer. The invoice issued for a privat eperson is sent to the competitor's e-mail address. The invoice issued for the company / association / club is sent to the address of the entity to which it was issued. Receipts for the sale of T-shirts as part of premium packages are available at the Organiser's office, ul. Walerego Sławka 10, 30-633 Krakow.

VI. CLASSIFICATION

1. The following classifications will be held in the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon:

a. General of Women and Men

b. In the age categories of women and men:

K 18-29 M 18-29

K 30-39 M 30-39

K 40-49 M 40-49

K 50-59 M 50-59

K 60-69 M-60-69

K 70 and older M 70 and older

c. General for players with eyesight disabilities in the category of women and men:

Category B1 - 100% blind people with a guide,

Category B2 - visually impaired and partially sighted people using the help of another person (guide) or participating on their own.

d. General for players with hearing disabilities in the category of women and men:

-people with hearing loss above 55dB,

-hearing impaired people.

2. The results of the general classification will be determined on the basis of gross times, while the results of other categories will be based on net times..

3. The organizer reserves the right to create additional classifications.

4. During the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon the following will be held:

a. 6th Polish Championship of Physiotherapists in the Half Marathon,

b. 17th Polish Teachers' Half Marathon Championships,

b. II Polish Foresters' Half Marathon Championships.

VII. AWARDS

1. Awards in the general classification of women and men:

1st place

-PLN 13,000 if the time is below 01:01:34 for men / 01:10:48 for women;

-PLN 12,000 if the time is below 01:02:45 for men / 01:11:33 for women

-PLN 11,000 if the time is below 01:03:45 for men / 01: 12:04 for women

-PLN 10,000 if the time is above 01:03:45 for men / 01: 12:04 for women

2nd place - PLN 8,000

3rd place - PLN 6, 000

2. In the categories for people with visual disabilities and the title of hearing organs in the general classification of women and men:

1st place - PLN 2,000

2nd place - PLN 1,500

3rd place - PLN 1, 000

3. The organizer does not provide awards in age categories.

4. The condition for receiving the prizes is to complete the run, and in the case of doping control - negative result.

5. Cash prizes will be paid to the account provided by the competitor after the Organizer obtains the results of the doping control (if it is carried out) and after receiving all the data necessary to make a bank transfer. Cash prizes obtained in other classifications, referred to point VI.3, will be paid to the account provided by the competitor in the statement indicating the exact data for the transfer.

6.  In the case of cash prizes, the data for the transfer should be provided no later than 30 days from the announcement of the official results. After this date, the prize is forfeited to the Organizer.

7. If the total value of the award exceeds PLN 2,000, income tax will be deducted from the value of the award, in accordance with applicable regulations.

8. The official announcement of the results will take place 14 days after the end of the event.

VIII. ORGANIZER'S BENEFITS

1. Each competitor who finishes the race within the regular time limit will receive a commemorative medal.

2. Changing rooms and showers

a. will be located in TAURON Arena Kraków. They will be open on October 16, 2022 from 08:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m

3. Deposit

a. Deposit will be located in TAURON Arena Kraków and will be open on October 16, 2022 from 08:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

b. The deposit accepts personal belongings of runners packed in bags with a sticker with the starting number (bags and stickers will be issued during verification at the Competition Office),

c. The bags will be released from the deposit upon presentation of the bib number,

d. Losing the bib number by a runner releases the Organizer from liability for collecting the bag by another person upon presentation of the bib number.

e. It is forbidden to leave any valuable items or documents in the deposit.

f. The organizer is not responsible for participants’ belongings left outside the designated deposit.

g. Items left in the deposit must be picked up on 16 October, 2022 utnil 02:00 p.m.

4. Starting packages:

a. Each competitor will receive a starter package consisting of:

-clothing bag for deposit + sticker for the bag,

-information / advertising materials.

b. Competitors allowed to start will also receive their starting numbers and safety pins

c. Premium starter packages will include a T-shirt by ASICS, prepared especially for the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon.

d. Starting packets not collected at the Competition Office will not be sent or issued at a later date.

5. T-shirt:

a. The T-shirt is available in the starter package only for competitors who purchase the starter package with a T-shirt.

b. The number of packages with a T-shirt is limited and specified in point IV.1.b;

c. Detailed sizes of T-shirts are presented in the table available on the webside www.cracoviapolmaraton.pl.

d. The number of T-shirts in each size is limited. Lack of information about a certain size in the application form means that the limit of the given size is exhausted.

e. T-shirts at the Competition Office are issued on the basis of the size indicated in the registration form, without the possibility of changing the declared size during collection, until stocks of a given size are exhausted,

f. It is not possible to exchange the T-shirt after the end of the event in any case.

5. Starting numbers

a. The starting numbers are given at the Competition Office. It is not possible to book the selected number in advance.

b. During the race, competitors must have the starting numbers provided by the Organizer, pinned to the front of the starting T-shirt. Covering the bib number in whole or in part is unacceptable under penalty of disqualification.

c. The starting number is a document assigned to a specific competitor. In the event of loss of the bib number (loss), the competitor assigned to the given number is responsible for the start of another person on this number and it is the same as the situation described in point IV. 13.

d. The organizer does not issue duplicate starting numbers in any case.

e. The competitor is obliged to check if the bib number received by him is the same as the number on the sticker for the deposit.

6. The organizer does not provide accommodation for runners.

IX. FINANCING

Costs of organizing the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon shall be borne by: the Municipality of Krakow, Sponsors and Partners.

X. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

1. Participants in the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon are bound by the regulations of the Polish Athletics Association and these regulations.

2. Based on Art. 38 point 12 of the Act on consumer rights, participants are not entitled to withdraw from the contract for the provision of services related to entertainment, sports or cultural events, if the contract indicates the day or period of service provision.

3. The Organizer reserves the right to conduct doping control during the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon.

4. The organizer informs that on March 20, 2020, by the Regulation of the Minister of Health of March 20, 2020 (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 491, as amended), an epidemic was introduced on the territory of the Republic of Poland in connection with SARS infections - CoV - 2. The above situation results in the introduction of numerous restrictions of a generally applicable nature, aimed at limiting the transmission of the virus. In connection with the above, the Organizer reserves the right to change the following Regulations, in the event of introducing the above-mentioned restrictions and the need to adapt the provisions of the Regulations to them.

5. The organizer reserves the right to cancel or change the date of the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon in the event of:

a. force majeure events that may have an impact on the course of the event.

b. an increase in infections in the territory of the Republic of Poland related to the spread of the Sars-CoV-2 virus, which could pose a threat to the life and health of competitors and people participating in the organization of the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon.

c. introducing generally applicable restrictions (in particular regarding the limits of competitors), which would make it impossible or significantly difficult to conduct the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon.

6. Force majeure, within the meaning of these regulations, are any unforeseeable situations or events, of an exceptional nature, beyond the control of the Organizer, preventing the fulfillment of any of the obligations provided for in these regulations, not resulting from an error or negligence of the Organizer and remaining insurmountable, despite all due diligence. , in particular: natural disasters such as flood, hurricane, extraordinary storms, tornadoes, earthquakes, extremely intense and prolonged rainstorms or extraordinary and external events that could not be prevented (such as: war, restrictions of martial law , uprising, revolution, riots, terrorist attack), epidemic threats, epidemic threats, epidemics and epidemic states, as well as new legal acts or decisions of administrative authorities preventing the Organizer from fulfilling its obligations. Neither the Organizer nor the competitors are responsible for non-performance or improper performance of the provisions of these regulations due to force majeure.

7. The organizer reserves the right to change irrelevant provisions of these Regulations.

8. If significant changes are necessary, the Organizer will notify the Participants / Users about the change in the Regulations via e-mail. The Participant / User who does not accept the introduced significant changes to the Regulations should notify the Organizer within 14 days of receiving information about the change in the Regulations. Sending such a notification results in the removal of the Participant from the race - in such a case, the paid entry fee will be refunded.

9. Written protests regarding the course of the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon and its results are received by the Main Judge of the Competition by 1:20 p.m. on the day of the run. Protests submitted after this date will not be examined.

10. Complaints regarding matters related to the participation and organization of the 8th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon may be submitted in writing to the Organiser's address or by e-mail to the following address: zapisy@zis.krakow.pl no later than 7 days after the end of the event.

11. The organizer reserves the right to change the date and route of the race.

12. Application for participation in the race expressed by sending the application in accordance with point V or submitting it to the Competition Office is tantamount to accepting the rules of the race.

13. The Regulations are available for inspection at the Organiser's office and on the website www.cracoviapolmaraton.pl
