Route of the 9th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon
In just over a month's time 9th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon awaits us. We have over 6500 people on the start list for the event. Entry limit is 8000. We present the route the runners will take on October 8.
The route of the 9th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon, like the route of the Cracovia Marathon, largely follows #troughhistory. Although it had to be changed this year due to renovations in the area of the Dębnicki Bridge, there is still no shortage of historical monuments and the picturesque streets and promenades of Kraków. An additional attraction again is, of course, the finish line on the main board in the TAURON Arena Kraków, where the runners will finish in shine of lights. The start will traditionally be from Lema Street - in front of the largest sports and entertainment hall in Poland, which will also once again be the base for the event.
The participants of the half marathon will run through Krakow's Main Market Square, which they will reach via Planty and Floriańska Street, and then follow along Grodzka Street and Podzamcze Street beside the Wawel Castle.
Covering a distance of 21 km and 97.5 metres, the runners will see Krakow's most famous monuments, such as the Wawel Castle, the Cloth Hall, the Barbican, the Florian Gate and historical sacred buildings - such as the churches of St. Mary's, St. Apostles Peter and Paul, Na Skałce and others. They will also be able to see the characteristic for our city objects - apart from TAURON Arena Kraków, such as Father L. Bernatek's Footbridge, the Botanical Garden, the ICE Krakow Congress Centre, and the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology. They will also meet the Wawel Dragon!
The route of the 9th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon is certified by World Athletics (formerly IAAF) and AIMS.
