4th PZU Cracovia Royal Halfmarathon: Changes in public transit on 15 October 2017 (Sunday)

Sunday, 15th October 2017, on the streets of Krakow take a place 4th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon. Due to this part of the streets between 9.30 and 14.30 will be closed or partaly colsed in area of to the route of the run.

Race route (21 km 97.5 m)

START (11:00 a.m.): Lema Street, near the TAURON Arena Krakow staircase (in the area of the intersection with Dabska Street) on both lanes towards Jana Pawla II Avenue. On intersection turn right to Jana Pawla II Avenue (the entire road is open for runners) and run towards the intersection with Nowohucka Street (connection), then on the right lane of Nowohucka Street towards 308 Dywizjonu Roundabout. The runners will then turn to Pokoju Avenue. They will run on the right lane towards the intersection with Lema Street, then turn right and run against the traffic on Lema Street (in the right lane), then turn near the intersection with Dabska Street (the route will lead them down the right lane towards Pokoju Avenue). On the intersection with Pokoju Avenue they will turn right and run in the right lane towards the last passage right before Grzegorzeckie Roundabout. Then, they will run towards Grzegorzeckie Roundabout, where they will turn onto Kotlarska Street and run in a single lane. Then they will cross the Kotlarski Bridge, Herlinga-Grudzinskiego Street and get on Zablocie Street, where the entire road will be open to runners. Then Solna Street, Nadwislanska Street, Brodzinskiego Street, Staromostowa Street, Przy Moscie Street, Karola Rollego Street, Retmanski Bridge, Ludwinowska Street and Wolynski Boulevard. Then they will run along the Poleski Boulevard. After that, the runners will get on Zamkowa Street and turn right onto Debnicki Bridge (in the right lane), then again right on Zwierzyniecka Street (in the right lane), Powisle Street (in the right lane) and then turn right again before the car park near Sheraton Hotel towards Czerwinskiego Boulevard. Then the route leads along the Embankment towards Galeria Kazimierz Shopping Centre, then on the pedestrian crossing on Podgorska Street (near Kotlarski Bridge), then towards Grzegorzeckie Roundabout, then right towards Pokoju Avenue. Then another street towards 308 Dywizjonu Roundabout, then onto the pedestrian crossing and footpath / cycling route leading back to Lema Street. The runners will then get on Lema Street and turn right on the second intersection towards TAURON Arena Krakow – the FINISH LINE. The route should be completed in three hours.

4TH PZU CRACOVIA ROYAL HALF MARATHON MAP

The “5 for Kosciuszko” race will also take place there: START (11:00 a.m.) – Lema Street, near the TAURON Arena Krakow, then turn left onto Pokoju Avenue (footpath / cycling route) towards 308 Dywizjonu Roundabout, then left towards Nowohucka Street (footpath / cycling route), then left towards Stanislawy Wysockiej Street. Then the route leads through AWF and the Polish Airmen Park towards Dabska Street, then left towards M1 until the turn, turn on Dabska Street, then run along Dabska Street towards Lema Street, turn right at the second intersection towards TAURON Arena Krakow – the FINISH LINE. The race should be completed in 40 minutes.

Additional information

access to Ofiar Dabia Street and adjacent streets from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. will be available only from Nowohucka Street;
access to all companies located on Pokoju Avenue (right side on the stretch from Widok Street to 308 Dywizjonu Roundabout) will be possible from Ofiar Dabia Street, alongside Pokoju Avenue in the usual direction, exit will be possible only towards 308 Dywizjonu Roundabout;
parking will be forbidden along the route of the half marathon;
due to the race, as well as the need to set up the event infrastructure, Lema Street will be closed from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. – from Pokoju Avenue, additionally the street will be closed in both directions from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. During that time (9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.) access to Plaza Shopping Centre and Decathlon, as well as estates on Dabska Street will be possible from Kosynierow Street (additionally, access to Dabska Street will be made available on Lema Street from Mogilska Street). Until 9:00 a.m., the participants will be able to get to a parking lot at TAURON Arena Krakow – accessible only from Jana Pawla II Avenue;
walkways and cycling roads along the route, including on Lema Street (near TAURON Arena Krakow) and along the Vistula Embankments will be closed for traffic from 9:30 until – 2:30 p.m. (on Lema Street from 6:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.);
Due to the closing of Pokoju Avenue to 308 Dywizjonu Roundabout, access to M1 shopping centre will be available from Nowohucka Street;
pedestrian traffic in all places crossing the route will be regulated by Race Staff;
vehicular traffic will be restored on the basis of decisions made by Police,
after the last participant of the half-marathon completes the given part.

The Organisers urge caution, respecting the changes in traffic organisations and obeying instructions given by the Police, Municipal Guard and other authorities.

We recommend downloading free mobile applications that will inform you about all closed roads and will guide you towards available detours. These applications will also inform you about the current traffic situation in the city and warn you about all kinds of danger.

- Kotlarska Street and Kotlarski Bridge (right lane in the direction of Grzegorzeckie Roundabout), from approx. 9:30 a.m. to approx. 2:00 p.m.,

- Debnicki Bridge (right lane according to direction of traffic movement) from approx. 9:30 a.m. to approx. 1:00 p.m.,

- Jana Pawla II Avenue (southbound lane) from the intersection with Lema Street to Nowohucka Street – from approx. 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Streets temporarily excluded from tram transit:

Pokoju Avenue from Czyzynskie Roundabout to Grzegorzeckie Roundabout from approx. 10:30 a.m. to approx. 2:00 p.m.,

NOTE: traffic in both directions will move in the southbound lane of Pokoju Avenue from Ofiar Dabia Street to Fabryczna Street.

During this time, tram lines 1, 6, 8, 10, 13, 14, 22 and bus lines 125, 128, 424 will run along alternate routes, while bus stops “Stella-Sawickiego” and ”Rondo 308 Dywizjonu” for line 178 in the direction of Wielicka Street will be suspended.

Due to this, for the duration of the traffic closures, the following changes in the functioning of Krakow Public Transit will be made:

Tram lines:

line 1 – from approx. 10:30 a.m. to approx. 2:00 p.m. Wzgorza Krzeslawickie to stop “Rondo Czyzynskie” without changes, then via Jana Pawla II Avenue, Mogilska Street, Powstania Warszawskiego Street, Grzegorzecka Street and along its route to Salwator.
line 6 – from approx. 11:00 a.m. to approx. 12:00 p.m. Kurdwanow to stop “Limanowskiego” without changes, then via Na Zjezdzie Street, Starowislna Street, Poczta Gl., sw. Gertrudy Street, Dominikanska Street and along its route to Salwator.
line 8 – from approx. 11:00 a.m. to approx. 12:00 p.m. Borek Falecki to stop “Korona” without changes, then via Limanowskiego Street, Na Zjezdzie Street, Starowislna Street, Poczta Gl., sw. Gertrudy Street, Dominikanska Street and along its route to “Bronowice Male”;

line 128 – from approx. 6:00 a.m. to approx. 9:30 a.m. will run along the route: “Zajezdnia Plaszow” to stop “Ofiar Dabia” without changes, then via Pokoju Avenue, Grzegorzeckie Roundabout, then Mogilskie Roundabout and Mogilska Street to stop “Wieczysta” and without further changes to Pradnik Czerwony. The stop “TAURON Arena Krakow Wieczysta” will be moved from Lema Street to Mogilska Street. From approx. 9:30 a.m. to approx. 2:30 p.m., the bus will run along the route: Zajezdnia Plaszow to stop “Stoczniowcow” without changes, then via Nowohucka Street, Klimeckiego Street, Kotlarska Street, Grzegorzeckie Roundabout, Mogilskie Roundabout, Mogilska Street to stop “Wieczysta” and without further changes to Pradnik Czerwony.

line 178 – from approx. 10:30 a.m. to approx. 11:30 a.m. – the stops “Stella-Sawickiego” and “Rondo 308 Dywizjonu” in the direction of Wielicka Street will be suspended.
line 701 – the bus line replacing the tram runs from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. every 10 minutes on a detour route. The line will be served by standard vehicle fleet.
“Ofiar Dabia” initial stop next to building no. 3 at the intersection with Bajeczna Street – Ofiar Dabia Street – Pokoju Avenue (southbound lane adjacent to the tram track) – turn left onto Fabryczna Street – (stop “Fabryczna” on Fabryczna Street next to the garages) – Grzegorzecka Street – turn right at the Variete Theatre onto Rogozinskiego Street (stop “Teatr Variete” on the street before the turn onto Pokoju Avenue), turn right onto Pokoju Avenue, (stop “Francesco Nullo” in the existing lay-by) – stop “Fabryczna” (concrete slab platform, past the intersection with Fabryczna Street) – “Ofiar Dabia” in the existing lay-by – “Dabie” in the existing lay-by “TAURON Arena Krakow al. Return trip: Pokoju Avenue (stop “Centralna” and “Rondo 308 Dywizjonu”) – Nowohucka Street (stop “M1 Nowohucka”, “Elektrocieplownia Krakow”, “Koszykarska”) – Stoczniowcow Street (stop “Stoczniowcow”) – Ofiar Dabia Street (initial stop “Ofiar Dabia”).
